WELCOME TO RANCHO ESTATES

Rancho Estates is a historic neighborhood which boasts homes designed by famous architect Cliff May, who is considered by many to be the inventor of the modern ranch house. Rancho Estates is the largest among the many tract housing developments he designed in the 1950s. Most of these homes are L-shaped, have shallow gabled roofs, clerestory windows, and board and batten siding, combining sleek modern lines with rustic accents to epitomize the latest in the ranch style. Perhaps the most iconic feature of these homes is the private front courtyard which maximizes outdoor space and combines the best of indoor and outdoor living.

Across from Rancho Estates is El Dorado Nature Center, a 105-acre park featuring a visitor center, flora & fauna, lakes, a stream & walking trails. This expansive park provides plenty of activities for families such as "Family Night Walks" and "Morning Bird Walks". Schools in the area include Cubberley K-8 and Newcomb K-8 Academy.
