Welcome to Alamitos Heights

Arbored streets and a community spirit keep this charismatic neighborhood saturated with residential tranquility
Alamitos Heights can contribute much of its suburban charm to the lack of commercial bustle within its bounds, and this primarily residential neighborhood is a peaceful haven for those who prefer a low-key lifestyle. Golf courses and parks, historic homes, and quick access to Downtown Long Beach — there’s no doubt that Alamitos Heights residents are able to enjoy a multifaceted lifestyle.
Conveniently bounded by the Pacific Coast Highway on its northern side, Alamitos Heights sits adjacent to the sprawling greens and blues of Colorado Lagoon. Its name was derived from its vicinity to Alamitos Bay rather than Alamitos Beach, and its position near the bay makes it a great fit for boaters who want easy access to a marina.
A large number of single-family houses populate the quaint streets of Alamitos Heights. The dazzling range of architectural variety is owed in part to the area’s vibrant history, and potential buyers will encounter everything from two-story Colonials and stylish ranch homes to sophisticated, traditional new builds and Mediterranean abodes. Condominiums are abundant in Alamitos Heights, including those like Stoneybrook Villas, a large and well-maintained complex.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

For most of their commercial desires, the residents of Alamitos Heights need only travel up and down the Pacific Coast Highway. Along with a multitude of shopping centers carrying lifestyle services, grocers, and those retailers meant to fulfill day-to-day needs, the stretch along the highway also includes enviable restaurants and the occasional entertainment venue.
The all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse known as Greenfield Churrascaria is an absolute must-try for any visitors to the Alamitos Heights area. The fine meats at this upscale restaurant are roasted in a traditional Brazilian style, meant to retain the natural juices and exquisite flavors of every premium cut.
Maintaining a healthful lifestyle is made simple at Earthly Juices, the one-stop-shop for organic juices, cleansers, salads, and bowls. Superfoods and nutrient shots are both staples on the menu, as are vegan meals, detox teas, and homemade soups — all crafted with farm-to-table ingredients. Just a 3-minute drive south will put residents in the path of Gaslamp Restaurant, where live music, comedy shows, and dancing are all on the menu in addition to the elevated American pub fare.

Things to Do

For lovers of the great outdoors, Alamitos Heights is a veritable oasis of opportunity. At more than 13 acres, the beautiful Colorado Lagoon park is centered around an inland lake and features sandy beaches, playgrounds, and walking paths. On its southern border, Colorado Lagoon is adjacent to Marine Park and Marine Stadium, the latter of which is popular for waterskiing, rowing, and speedboat racing. In fact, the Southern California Speedboat Club frequently hosts their highly entertaining races here.
Another source for outdoor recreation is the neighborhood’s two public golf courses: Recreation Park Golf Course 18 and Recreation Park Golf Course 9. Named for the number of holes on the course, these two facilities are known as the best in Long Beach and also serve as lovely wedding venues and gathering spots.
